Fuel for Off-Highway Work

Dyed diesel for the equipment that gets it done

Off-road diesel, also called dyed or red diesel, is fuel for equipment that runs off public roads. It is dyed red to show it is not taxed for highway use, which means a lower price for the machines, generators, and job-site equipment your operation depends on.

Cape Cod Biofuels delivers ultra low sulfur off-road diesel, and we can blend it with renewable biodiesel for a cleaner burn. Whether you need a bulk fill or an on-site fuel cube at your job site, we keep your equipment running across Cape Cod and the South Shore.

Dyed diesel is for off-highway use only

Off-road diesel is dyed red because it is not taxed for highway use. It is legal for equipment, generators, farm, and marine use, but using dyed diesel in a registered vehicle on public roads is prohibited and subject to significant penalties. If you need fuel for on-road vehicles, we supply clear on-road diesel as well.

This biofuel saves me money too. The burner does not need as much servicing, and I can be sure it will work because the biofuel is so clean burning. Great, responsive company.

Off-road diesel questions, answered

What is off-road diesel?

Off-road diesel is ultra low sulfur diesel dyed red to show it is not taxed for highway use. It is meant for off-highway equipment, generators, farm machinery, and marine use, and it costs less than on-road diesel because it does not carry the road tax.

Who can use dyed off-road diesel?

Contractors, landscapers, farms, marinas, and facilities running off-highway equipment, generators, and machinery. It is not legal to use in registered vehicles driven on public roads.

Is off-road diesel cheaper?

Yes. Because dyed diesel is not taxed for highway use, it is priced lower than on-road diesel. Choosing a biodiesel blend can add further value with cleaner, locally produced fuel.

Can I get off-road diesel as a biodiesel blend?

Yes. We can supply dyed off-road diesel in renewable biodiesel blends such as B20, giving you a cleaner-burning fuel for your equipment without a performance trade-off.

Do you deliver to job sites?

Yes. We deliver in bulk and can place an on-site fuel cube right at your job site, refilled on a schedule so your equipment never runs dry.
